PKKK’s National Council Meeting – July 2022

The Pambansang Koalisyon ng Kababaihan sa Kanayunan has finally had its first face-to-face National Council Meeting in 2 years since the pandemic started in 2020. The women provincial coalition leaders (pictured above) along with the National Secretariat has convened last July 1-2, 2022 at Ciudad Christia in San Mateo, Rizal. They have discussed details in preparation for the next Executive Committee Meeting and National Congress which will be held this October 2022 in accordance with the celebration of National Rural and Indigenous Women’s Month. Updates on current advocacy campaigns being implemented across the different regions was also tackled. PKKK’s advocacy campaign for women’s representation in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) was heavily discussed by the provincial coalition leaders as they shared multiple case stories of women’s struggles to be counted in the Dept. of Agriculture’s electronic database. Rural women workers continue to fight to be recognized and registered as farmers.
